    Smile 1984 s10 blazer LS1 conversion

i wanted to see how much power an automatic transmission from a ls1 camaro or firebird can handle if built properly and I wanted to see what everyone on this site would put behind an ls1 after all your trials and tribulations. the requirements are that it be street legal in cali.

I think he's refering to a 4L60E transmission Red(?) Which is good for at least 350 h.p. But they don't last forever, lol.

if you say so but i stand by my 250 rwhp limit. It won't take you long to find trucks in that range with repeat burned up 60e transmissions.

We have no issues with the 6.0 and 4l60e behind the 3900lb blazer 360rwhp on motor and add nitrous to it. We go 11.2 on nitrous consistently. Don't fear the transmission if built right. I mainly race eight mile and it runs 6.80 all day long on the nitrous

I'd leave the steering alone unless you bought a complete setup from some hot rod company. They do use that frame on 40 Willis fiberglass bodies, but i believe they leave the suspension stock.

I did an 86 with a built 350 and 700R4 combo. Was lots of fun, but burned up the motor...(builder left a rag under the intake manifold!) Don't drink and build engines...LOL! one costly mistake!
Anyways, the stock suspension was fine. I'd have lowered it more and worked on the rear more once I put in more power, but it never got to that point...too many hobbies.
'-05 people haulin' 5.3 crew cab. Nelson Tuned! 17.4MPG @ 75MPH...SLOW, but not bad.
