    1993 TBI into a 1991 truck

I've got a 1991 chevy with the 5.7 that has numerous problem, main being engine appears to have locked up after sitting for several (8+)years, other being the last time it was attempted to be started there was a small fire at the TBI unit caused by too much starter fluid???

I have come across a complete motor out of a 93 that Id like to swap in. I havent messed with these motors in a looooong time but I remember there being a difference in TBI between those years. How much trouble am I going to have to try and drop this one? I know I have the option of just swapping short blocks and using my existing intake heads etc... however Im not too sure I want to gamble with that with unknown damage to the original TBI unit from the fire

I asked on FSC but figured might have some help over here as well....

As far as the intake and heads that is all the same the only difference in the motors was the throttle body itself. just compare the iac motor and the tps sensor from the one to the other to see if they are different. If they are you can either try to find a used throttle body that matches or make adapter harness to plug into the later throttle body or order a new holly throttle body. But i think those years had the same throttle body.
