    G80 Rearend swap

My brother just gave me a Gov-loc rearend from what he thinks is a 2001, I have a 2007 Silverado. I am wondering if this will be a direct swap. I just have 1 wheel peel right now with traction control. What do you guys think? How easy is the swap? Does anyone have step by step instructions? Thanks guys.

It will fit but if you have any mods at all in your truck I would suggest you not install the G80, the one wheel peel is safer when it comes to potential broken parts caused by a failing G80. Get a TrueTrac, instead, its worth the expense.

I have yet to grenade my G80 but would still recommend something stronger.

Which parts are you stating will break?

How much do the truetracs run?

How much power can these axles in conjuction with the treutracs actually handle?

    Thanks guys

The G80's Are perfect for stock daily driver, but the internal parts will not hold up to any added power or hard driving... Once the G80 grenades it takes Ring and pinion with it...

Rons Machining service has them for 385 i think. WELL WORTH IT! my G80 almost put me in the ditch when 1 tire stopped spinnig and jerked me to the ditch. the bad thing is i know i have to change it PLUS i have a tru-trac yet i havent changed it out yet. the G80 wouldnt even stay locked when i was launching at 2500rpm behind a stock 5.3 it has caused me to run a lot of 15.0s @ 94.5-95.2mph bc it wont keep the tires planted during the 60'
