Bought mine new back in '05 and I love the car. First year I put 35K miles on it, now it has close to 80k.
So far trouble free, except for a trans rebuild due to a faulty converter.

I drive a lot of cars, I drive vettes just about every week, I drive fbodys all the time, caddy's, and even the new camaro's.
I'm not saying this just because I have a GTO, but I like the way my car rides and feels over any of these cars.
It has just the right bounce, control, and softness I like.
The vette is too small, the caddy isn't as comfortable, like the new camaros, and the fbody's well...

The power of the 6.0L is great in the GTO, it has just the right amount of power and go! Mine has a 3200stall converter, longtubes, cam, which were put in right away when I got it, and since then, I have never had a reason to mod it any more, it's just right.

The interior is much better than any of the above and after all these miles, there are still no rattles that annoy me.

Handling isn't as great as some of the above, but after I put the koni adjustables and eibach springs, it's just right!

The inside is just right for me, the seat goes back far enough, the seats are soft and supportive. If you're looking to get a car for 4, it's not ideal, the seats move forward and back slowly, and it's tough to get in and out of.
but, when you get back there, it's suprisingly roomy.
Also, all these miles, no wear on the seats, armrests, shifter , steering wheel, button controls, etc, so good material. And I'm rough on vehicles, don't keep them detailed or washed every month.

If for some reason I lost this car, I would definintely get another one!

    hope this helps,
    allen

You don't want my opinion on this one. I'm sure they are great cars. We'll pretend that I didn't say this, but I would probably drive the crap out of one.
2005 black Yukon XL SLT - traded in for me wife's new Fusion (GM sucks these days)
2002 black Yukon SLT (the skinny sister)
1969 green Pontiac GTO (Layla, AKA the black sheep)

Many know that I'm not much of a fan of the Holden "gto" manaro, since 04 I've thought it was a sham of a car. When they optioned in the 6.0 and ramair in 05 I liked them more, but still didn't like them. However, since I am such a GTO lover I have thought about buying one myself. I just hate on them to keep me from giving in I think. They are fun to drive and i've never heard a bad thing about them. I just like my old GTO's waaaay to much to accept this car as a GTO. If Pontiac had come out with something that blended old with new(similar to the camaro but not as futuristic) I would have bought one. I have never been a camaro fan but I would buy a new camaro before I would buy a 6.0 gto.

If you wanna think of a car that changed drastically, compare the 80's Nova to the old school, lmao, that was just a shame lol.

The only thing I hear about ppl not liking the GTO is, it's not as aggressive as the TransAm, just because it's Pontiac, doesn't mean it should be like the TA.

Other than that, I don't have any complaints about it.

^HAHAHAHA. touche on that one. i personally think the TransAm is as ugly as it gets. i always considered it a camaro with an Ugly face lift.

I agree totally on the nova difference. Haha. I don't particularly want it to be more like a trans am, but more original. In my opinion they look like the product of a civic and a grand am that grew a pair. It still looks like a Pontiac to me but I think they could have made it more GTO and less euro. Truth be told I wouldn't mind having one because it is a Pontiac GTO but I would rather spend the money on another 69 or 70. I personally like the t/a over the camaro but I AM a Pontiac guy. A lot of people don't like chrome on black but I love it. Differences are what make life fun.

Remeber the orange concept GTO? I would have bought two of those. It was the perfect blend of classic GTO and new age sports car. Very aggressive and looked nothing like anything else on the road.
