My better half is returning to college this year so I went with her to the bookstore on campus yesterday. While we were there I went to the campus store and found that she could buy a student copy of Windows 7 Ultimate for $50. What was better is that she could buy one copy of 32bit and one of 64bit for $100 total! That's something like $450 worth of software. My laptop had Vista 32bit on it but my computer is actually a 64bit machine. I upgraded to the 64bit software and this thing rocks. I lost all my previous data on the computer during the installation but I had backed it up to an external drive before doing the upgrade. Buying a new hard drive would have been so much easier and saved a lot of time but I'm happy with the final results. It will take some time getting used to the new format but I would highly recommend the upgrade to anyone that has access to buy it at the student union.
