Ok, I was at the track the other night w/ new tires that don't hook for shit and I keep going down on the press. to try to get it to hook. My truck has been running consistant 14.8's but lousy '60 times. The best of the night was a 2.292. Now my last run I spun pretty bad off the line but it caught itself w/o me having to back out of it. My '60 was a 2.445 and I was .17 slower in the 1/8 and almost .2 slower at the 1000ft. My 1/4 mile time was .1 slower but my MPH was about 3.7 MPH faster at 95.42 to my usual 91 or 92 MPH at the most. I did manually shift out of second at I'm guessing 61-6200, maybe 6300 because I thought I felt it hit the rev limiter as I was shifting but not sure. I wasn't paying too much attention to the tach but I could of sworn that it was shifting a little too early at the 2-3 so thats why I manually shifted but only on the last run of the night as the track was closing. Usual shift point is 5800 I think. Both runs were pretty much identical except for the '60, even the RT is within .002 of each other So my question is what do you think my time would have been if I had nailed the '60 w/ maybe another 2.29 or better...Zed

That higher mph is just a product of your spinning, when you spin more your mph will go up even if your e.t. goes down. I don't know the exact reason why but thats just the way it works.
    1 ton, 4600 pounds, 14.3@94mph any questions?

Spinning? Sounds like bad track preparation or you failed to heat the tires up good before staging unless you have a manual trans and you dumped the clutch. I miss my 5 speed at the track but have yet to of missed a shift with the automatic.

Here are some #'s for you to use as a comparison kinda. Spinning is not a issue for me AWD, once in awhile it spins the front tires for a sec or so but that s it. I am trying to get my 60ft's down. If anyone has any ideas lets here them.

    ET-14.28
    MPH-97.35
    60'-2.26
    330'-6.126
    1/8m-9.30@79.9
    1000'-11.99
    0-60-6.48

    Times were with one pass.

That's a pretty good ET '03Sierra. Sounds like you are on the right track. Your ET for the 1/8 mile is what one of Denton's locals is running with a 5.3 and a whipple charger.

78mph and up is killing me. This is where being NA is killing me. My 60ft time sucks though, I guess i need a stall. Right now i can get it up to about 2000 when i launch. I know one thing, the 6.0 in my denali pulls so much harder then the 5.3 that was in my sierra. Allens tune REALLY woke this thing up.

MPH is your power you're making.

My WRX ran 9.6 in the 1/8th... yeah sounds slow, trapped 76mph! That's due to the 2.3 60' time of the stock 1600rpm stall. It's brake stall to about 2400rpm. I had a '88 TownCar I built many moons back that ran around 81mph in the 1/8th mi at 8.8 sec... 2.2 60' time.

As you can see, neither could get from a dig. One couldn't stall high enough, the other spun. If I could drop both to 1.9 60s, that'd be ~.5 off the ETs of them from my understanding as each 0.1 off the 60' is around 0.2 off the ET

03Sierra-sts - Stall will help you from the launch, provided you have no traction problems. Since you're AWD, those should be pretty limited. I'd just leave off the flash stall so you don't build boost and cause the front end to hop around.

Oh, I thought you were boosted. lol Yeah well then get you a good stall. One that will flash to around 2800rpm now should flash to about 3200-3400rpm at full boost.

I'd go PI for a stall, it's just a far superior unit to a Yank. Nothing bad about Yank, but see who picks up the phone and BS's with ya. Good luck getting ahold of Yank and getting their stuff.

Apparently PI builds a larger 10.5" unit for trucks over a 9.5" Vig mainly used. So it'll drive more stock like too.
