    Learning my own tuning...

I have extensive knowledge in lsx motors but not so much in the computer side. Trying to learn it... anyone care to help? Preferably someone who has done their own tuning.

Oh and I have a '01 Z71 ECSB 5.3/4L60-E... Bone stock other than MSD wires... but not for too long.

Try the forums for whatever tuning software you have. Lots and lots of very helpful info there. And there's a lot of people here who can help you make sense of it all

I'm playing with the demo version of the old school TUNERCATS, now known as jet chip's Dynamic Spectrum Tuner. Trying to decide which tuner to buy. They have a good price at $500 to tune 4 vehicles. I know 3 others that would go in so $125 a piece can't be bad. I like it but some stuff is confusing....

unfortunately, you won't get much help HERE on tuning...(probably b/c site host sells tunes, and does most peoples)

other forums is way to go. hp tuners or efi live is most commonly used around here.
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

It seems alot of people around this site use hp tuners. I personally like efi live. I would get hpt or efi live instead of tuner cats. You'll find alot more support for those products

You are going to want one of those softwares named above. For HPTuners make sure you get the PRO version. I was going efi live but I got a killer deal on a hptunrs pro new in box ($300) and i couldn't be happier. But either one is a good choice.
    Step 1. crus at it.
    Step 2. get a hammer.
    Step 3. torch it.

Why pro? I was reading HPT forums and it seems like it would be better to go with the STD for $500 rather than the PRO for $650...
