Hey Allen, tried to PM you but it said your box was full.

I got a question for you. Remeber when I had the truck down there and Joe built the tranny and you put on the 2.75 pulley. Why with that pulley would I only be getting about 8.5 lbs of boost? You guys even mentioned that to me at the time. BSER on the SS board is getting 8.5 with a 3.0 pulley and almost identical mods to mine. What do you think the deal is? Do you think maybe my cam (comp 212/218, 558/563, 115 LSA) is bleeding off some boost.

Any advice you could give me would be great.

Holy cow, slim, you are alive, haha jk, I haven't visted the SS forum in a while, I'll have to clean up my inbox over there, I never have received notifications when I get a pm or a reply to a thread, hmmm.

It must be your headers and cam. I know of a built C5 and stroked engine, he's running a Radix and he can only get about 6 psi with a 2.9inch pulley, if i remember right.
Add heads and a tougher cam and you'll see even less boost.

That's what I think, but feel free to add some opinions guys,

It could be a slipping belt as well, or a combination of both

    thanks,

yeah, a longer duration, higher lift cam is going to reduce boost over a factory low lift short duration cam because the intake valve is open longer, letting more compressed air out of the intake manifold. The longer the cam overlap the more intake gases are pushed through the cylinder and out the exhaust valve. That 115 lsa is your boost's enemy.

Thanks for the responses. I am going to call the guys at Futral and see what they think will work the best. Damn I am getting tired of changing cams.

Or call up Cam Motion direct... they grind all FMS's cams.
