What to replace v6 with i dont need a 6.0

My v6 sucks but not replacing it cause im gonna go to the track or race. Just cause my v6 is getting weaker as i type this. Dont want to spend money to rebuild or put another v6 in. Would rather upgrade to 4.8 or 5.3. I was pretty set on a 5.3.

But ive been reading and see some nice numbers coming from stock 4.8s with a small turbo setup and i like this idea ive seen the turbo setups used on a few forums for about 1000.

Would this be a way to go? For awhile it would just be a simple 4.8 with ls6 cam and probably the usual bolt ons and tune. Also the 4.8 would be cheaper/easier to find. Im not lookin for super fast track times just a fun highway truck. Not sure what a simple 4.8 is capable of hp wise at the wheels but im looking for opinions. any one care to chime in and help?

with 4.8 and 5.3 being the same block I would go 5.3. They are about the same price and just as plentiful.

Well im gonna end up probably buying a motor online for reasons that i cant pick it up in my truck and it will be a whole lotta hassle and there seem to be alot of cheap 4.8s online than 5.3s and ive been impressed with some 4.8 vids ive been watching.

But still undecided till i have some good opinions. i know most will say go 5.3 its bigger faster etc. but as i said i will not be going to the track and will not be racing. this is strictly becasue i need a new motor and no sense in keeping the v6

Just do a 6.0. You can use less boost to get lots of power and not have to worry about too much boost on a 4.8

The 6.0 will be worth the little extra money.

id go with a 4.8 and a stronger cam than the ls6 that way you can turn more rpm's (also do rod bolts) it will be a better highway roll truck. Id shoot for about 7k shift point(btw i plan to turn close as i can to 8k on a 80,000 mile motor buy a low milage 4.8) this is for a turbo set up btw.
