    reflash question

i have a 91 c1500 with a lq4 swap. the motor is out of an 04 (not sure at this type of vehicle) and the pcm is out of an 02 (again not sure of vehicle. i have to ask the guy who gave them to me)

basically my question is will the pcm work with its current operating system or do i need to reflash? if so can i use efi live or hptuners to do the reflash?

im at the point where im finishing up the wires and then filling with the fluids. i just don't know if it will fire up because of the pcm issue.

thanks and sorry if its already been answered somewhere. ive been searching for 3 hours now and i worked all night.

The PCM box, does it have blue and red connectors or blue and green?

Is the engine electronic throttle body or cable style?

You'll have to disable VATS at least.

I may be wrong but I think 98-02 have a different pcm than 03 and up I know on 98-02 you can have real time tuning with hp tuners and you can't on 03 and up. But I could be wrong wont be the first time.

i believe the connecters are blue and red. as far as the throttle body, it was DBW, now its cable driven.

The stock OS in the 02 and earlier PCM should start it without issue other than the VATS turning it off about as soon as it starts. Turn the VATS off and it will run.

Ya, rtt is available on the 03's and 04's, just not the 05+.

The truck should start up for you, so you can at least check fluids and let things warm up

Thanks for the correction Allen I thought it stopped in 02 when the F body's stopped.
