    Oil Pump?

so driving one day our truck goes into 0 oil pressure. So we're wondering if our oil pump went out. We recently hd a swap done on it from a 5.3 to an LQ9 with milled heads, cam, springs, pushrods, and several stuff. So we're guessing the dude that dropped the new engine in there used the 5.3 oil pump with the new engine wich i bigger and badder, so i think the oil pump went out due to too much load from the new engine so any guesses if that's what it is if not well is there any reason for the truck to do that? right before the truck went back t the truck it would turn on and idle normal but the only thing is that it had no oil pressure and the truck kept saying to check engine oil pressure. So any guesses on why would really help

Engine swap would have nothing to do with that. I have an 05 with almost the same thing. Pan coming off tomorrow.

The pressure relief plunger in the oil pump often sticks in the bore and causes pressure problems.

    No, no, no, no!

I pulled the pan and front cover to get to the pump this morning. What I found was the plunger stuck in the bore of the oil pump. I will replace the pump. Do NOT listen to RedHeartbeat.
