    K&N intake problem

I recently purchased a 77 series K&N on here. The description said 99-06, but I was looking @ it and then went to K&N website and the part numbers and design are different from 2004 and 2006. Is this going to fit or not?

    K&N shows this for my 2004 http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...Prod=77-3021KP

This is what I got http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...Prod=77-3050KP

I could be wrong but I think the only difference between the 04 and the 05-06 would be that the one for 99-04 is for trucks with mechanical fans so it has a sharper, shorter curve where it hooks up to the throttle body. The one for the 05+ should have a more gradual curve where it hooks to the throttle body since there is more clearance because that bulky fan shroud is gone. Just a thought.

looks like someone beat me with the same reply. We could work out a trade if you wanted, the only problem is mine is the plastic tube and the original owner painted it with some ugly purple mirage nonsense. or put you some e-fans on and that one should fit

There are actually some small differences between an 04' and an 06'. The 04's didn't have e-fans for one and the 06's did, and the 04' trucks had 29 inch radiator and when GM went to e-fans they all got 34 inch radiators. I know this all comes into play with the K&N 57 Series FIPK (the ABS Plastic tube type) not sure on the Metal tube type. Basically I tried to use the one off a truck same year on my wifes 04's Tahoe, it would not fit. The only difference between them was the Tahoe's 34 inch radiator. Just my experience!

Never know for sure till you try it!

An 05-06 will fit on a 99-03 if you have efans. I have the 05-06 type on my Denali.....only because I did the same thing as you. It worked out for me 'cause all Denalis have 34" radiator and I have stock swapped efans.
