    Talking 4l65e Build

Ok so im pushing 90k on the speedo and i've been wanting to beef up the tranny anyways. I have decided to say with a stock stall but wouldnt mind a better quality converter, and i dont want to do the 4l80e swap, yet kudos to those who do seems like a soild way to put some serious power to the ground! That said i'm wondering if anybody has any advice as what to do, what not to do, any tips on any ugrades like servos, clutches etc... or any links to sites that catter to builds like this? I like to do things right the first time and i am known for overkill. Along with what i've already done i do plan on ls6 heads & cam, magna charger, and maybe stroking to 427 kinda waiting to see how that works out for other people before i take the plunge though. Anyways you guys rock! i can't say it enough every time i ask for advice ya'll come through
    thanks in advance

If your ultimate goal is MagnaCharger, might I'd suggest go ALL OUT for a built trans. Sir Vince @ FLT can certainly build ya something that'll last (60 or 80 trans). Truly depends on your performance goals though. An 80e would certainly hold FI powertrain. 60e (built properly) can hold an NA LS-based motor.

Unless you know trannys, don't try and do the build yourself. There are a lot of things that need to be upgraded with a unit like that:
Trans-Go HD2, Vette Servo, .490 Boost Valve, HARDENED Steel Rings, New Veins, Kevlar Bands, 29 Element Input Sprag, Z PAK, etc...

CUTOUT ● UD & ALT PULLEYS ● FLEX-A-LITE E-FANS ● 22" CENTERLINE STINGRAY III's ● LUND FIBERGLASS TONNEAU ● 2" LEVELING SHACKLES ● 12K HID LOWS & FOGS ● LEDs ● DEBADGED ● WHITE-FACED ESCALADE GAUGES ● KICKER 450.1 ● 2-CVR 10's ● DS60's ● K693's

with the plans you have for the future I wouldnt do anything less than an 80e otherwise you're just pissing away your money. I guess it's your's to spend how you like so I'll shut up now.

true, true i just really don't want to make all the changes to install the 80e especially since i'm 4wd, which the s/c and stroker kit are a ways down the road yet. i'm looking to build it to handle the occasional towing and heavy right foot of mine now if she spent more time on the strip ohhhh yeah she'd have the 80
