    bought a 6.0 today for $500.00

    whats some stuff i can do to bring this beast to life and not go brokedoing it?
    02 chevy 1500 ecsb. 02 lq4 6.0, nelson tuned.(sold but still in the family)

    Nothing. You WILL go broke once you find out how much power it can make! Here's a list of mods:

    A 224/224 cam made good power on the engine dyno a while back, good drivability too.
    Like he said above, exhaust and intake stuff.

    it has lil over 80,000 on it. complete stock motor. buddy of mine wanted to get rid of it and i jumped all over it.

    Gotta do a cam, pushrods and springs for sure. Do them while its out of the truck.

    alright, just wondering cause ive seen quite a few 00 motors sell for 500

    Super Chevy did a write up on a budget LQ4 build. They used L92 heads for $800, gm hot cam $400, new gaskets, manifold, carb

    Engine made 471hp, and 506 with a race cam. Id prefer to keep efi though
