    Balancing 24's

I've had my new truck for a few weeks and it came with 24's.

It was a little out of balance at first above 70 and tried to have the front rebalanced but it got worse and I drove straight to another shop and had it balanced again, still wasnt happy.

I had to drive from Houston to San Antonio today so I tried one more time becuse I at least wanted to run 80 without shaking out of my seat.

So i gave it one more shot, I figured I could trade for some factory 20"s if it didnt work becuse I rather ride in a new truck and not have any vibrations than put up with this crap, so another shop tried and it rolls 70 80 90 without even a shimmy

The secret was to balance it dynamic, balance it on the machine set to center and inside lip, there are many different settings a tire can be balanced at, I knew this and was ready to try even having the tape weights on the out side , but this guy swore this would work and it did.

the inside center of the rimm has tape on's and inside lip with hammer on weights.

Everyguy tried a different way and this one worked great so if anyone else has this trouble dont let it steer you away from big rims or at least 24's

Roadforce balancing is the most accurate. BMW only approves a roadforce balance to get them dead on.

Mine suck right now. I think it is a combo of 2500HD shocks and low profile tires and to top it off sh!tty roads.

You might need hub centric rings you will be suprised what little rings of plastic can do. they are about 40-60 buck for all 4.

you'd be surprised how many tire guys don't know how to balance a wheel you just can't hammer the weights onto the outside, there is actually a few tricks to the stick on weights

The guy that finally knew what he was doing suggested them also if I still had trouble, I never had heard about them before

I cant tell you how nice this truck rides now, you would never know it has low pro tires.

When mine were out of balance I noticed everytime i hit a few bumps it would send the tire into a shimmy even if I wasnt at speed.
