... My Automatic is a Manual

Well FINALLY got the rearend put back together. Just as i thought it was time to rejoice..... Disaster. Put it in drive... no drive... Put it in 1st... works find... 2nd ... all good. 3rd will work as long as the wheels are spinning when I go into it... on the road if I manually shift the truck out it will shift fine. As long as I have it above 40 mph I can put it in drive and the trans will do what it should. Word from the tranny shop is I broke the "super C sprag" not too super... Now I haft to find a trailer and tow it over there... life sucks.

I dont know if this helps but I had a similar problem on my 93 and it just turned out to be a solenoid problem. Maybe a speed sensor also?

some kind of sprag that goes in the tranny. Nothing more then a pin for the clutches or something. But its known to break under heavy loads so you upgrade it with what they call a "super c sprag" :bsflag: and APPARENTLY or so they claim. when it breaks you lose the 1st gear in drive UNLESS you manually shift it out. (yes I am completely goin off what the guys who apparently didnt make it as bulletproff as they claimed are telling me)

And yes Virgil I was welcomed to this world the FIRST time I had the tranny built... then it reminded me when my rear blew... then it slapped me again with this...

i promise a 60e is never bullet proof...you can build it but it will break...could be tomorrow..could be next week...could be next year...but it will break no matter how much hp you have

Well Im expecting it to be strong enough to hold at least 2 years you know. I really get down on my truck maybe 3 times a month. Otherwise Im just cruisin. It rarely sees floorboard. I WAS expecting it to last through this summer till I can get a good daily and really beat on what I got and start making it stronger.

well given the circumstances of the rear end breaking is what cause the trans to break so you really cant blame the builders of the trans on this one bro

going 20 mph when it broke.... something is off in the tranny for it to break that easily. ESPECIALLY when it was SUPPOSED to be PERFORMANCE built to stand up to what I got. The rearend didnt even lock up. It just pow and I let it roll to a stop when it stopped pullin. Keep in mind I wasnt even in it when it happend. Im not really blaiming them for it. They said they would cover the parts if id cover the labor for pullin the trans and bring the fluid and I didnt argue bout it. But I got a feeling maybe something was faulty to begin with. Ill say it like this. How many times did your rear end blow and take out your tranny?
