Nelson tune on a 4.3 liter?

Hey guys I did use the search option, but couldn't find anything relevant.

Has anyone had a Nelson tune on their 4.3 liter full size? I have a 2001 Chevy with a drop in K&N and a 50 series flowmaster, exiting in the stock location. I know some will say 'just swap in an LQ9' or something like that, but I like my little V6. Plus I want to leave the original motor, due to alot of sentimental value the truck has.

Will I see any type of noticeable torque or mpg gains with a Nelson tune? Anyone have any experience with this?

I think DuckySBHT had one on his V6 before he went V8.

I'd get rid of the blowmaster and get the tune.
99RCSB Broke because I wasted thousands and thousands of dollars on my truck.

I had a nelson tune on mine and I loved it. I could hang with very lightly modded 5.3s. Not RC though

RC=Regular Cab? Did you see any increase in MPG? I could care less about the actual measured HP and Torque gains (for this truck atleast). I'm wantin a 'seat of the pants' improvement? Did you get that with your Nelson V6 tune?

yeah regular cab. My mpg went to like 20/21 when I kept my foot out of it. I took out ALL torque management and got the most aggresive tune I could get with the 4.3. Only reason was because the 4.3 doesnt really put out as much power to hurt the transmission. The 4.3 does have some power. But your gonna laugh in the face of the 4.3 power when you ride in a boosted application or a NA starting with the 5.3

Wow! 20/21 is incredible. I'm averaging 17 mixed hwy/city now. Would you recommend pulling out ALL torque management a high mileage truck? Mine is a 2001 with 124,xxx miles. I know what you mean about the power difference. A co-worker has a Radix'd 02 Z71, and I love how it pulls. That's my plan for my '86. 5.3 with a Radix (income tax check).

    Thanks for the help Ducky!

That's low mileage for a 2001. I bet it would be fine....and if the trans has a problem later, it probably would have either way.
