    State emissions

So anyone living is californish states with emission laws.. as in strick ones?

Going to washington soon, and of course they have, well I won't say strick but real emission laws. Two year emission testing and all.

Question is, when I start building up the lq9, where can I get the info to know performance wise is too much when it comes to passing emissions? or will my ecu be capable of keeping it within limits of what is legal? I want the power.. but I want to be able to drive it too. More than just the track.

When you say strict emmissions...does this mean that they stick sniffers in the tailpipe on your truck? I know Texas has some decent emmissions laws, but that also depends on the year of your vehicle. Most vehicles with OBD-II are just have to use a programmer plugged in to read everything--which is good for us that have a tune. But some may use a sniffer--and you will not pass those without cats...even a stupid big cam with cats may not pass emmissions!

From what I know all obd2 95 and newer just get put on a computer in washington. obd1 and non obd get visual check.. so I guess there is nothing to fear.

Just gotta make sure I don't crop dust them when I get it tested

here in the great state of TX, if you have OBD1 they throw your vehicle up on rollers and put a sniffer in the pipe to check the emissions levels. That is if you happen to be lucky enough to live in one of the larger metroplexes that have emissions testing in addition to safety tests.

As long as the dont look under the truck. But you can put ''race'' converters on. I pulled into a oilchange place resently to see if tey would inspect my truck after the cam... he said as long as the CPU give it a green light, Im good to go. The lope doesnt matter. Some places will get out the book on you and fail everyone.
