    Broke flexplate

Well, it was long overdue but it broke. 2001-2002 LS1 flexplates suck!! Looks like I'll be replacing it with a new TCI or compatible one this weekend depending on what I can find. If you're installing an LS1 I'd recommend replacing this before the install since a truck weighs more than the F-body.

Sorry man. But yeah, I second that. I wish I had got a TCI or similar but I didn't have the time or cash when it broke.

what are you guys doing to break your's? I mean as hell to mine and run the 3500 stall and 300HP of nitrous and my stock LS1 flywheel is hanging in there.

2001-2002 LS1 flexplates are weaker than the earlier models. If you run a high RPM stall you shouldn't hesitate to replace the flexplate. JMHO

Mine may have also been due to improper torque...not sure.

Installed the new TCI SFI flexplate today and things are great now. If you decide to upgrade you better get some new bolts for the torque converter because the heads are too thin on the OEM one's and hit the plate bolts on the back of the motor. The Flexplate bolts have the thinner heads on them but they are 12mm so you can't use them unless your converter is 12mm and mine is 10mm.
