    1/8th mile 2nd time out

well heres the results for tonight. went to the local track again. full street attire. 20" wheels tonneau full weight.

    first run out 1.05 reaction time 2.33 60 9.33 1/8th at 79.23

    second run out .6179 reaction 2.48 60 9.44 1/18 at 79.96

so im pretty pissed at this point and think all prayers of 8's are gone

    third and final run out .6130 reaction 2.13 60 9.0439 1/8th. at 80.35

i was pretty happy with the last one. only my 2nd time to the track so im still learning my launches third run i think was a good spot for me to launch but i need bars as the truck still hopps and spins a tad and make my 60ft suffer... over all not to bad for full wieght i guess. hopefully next season ill have bars and slicks and can dip into mid 8's with some extra wieght removed.

Keep practicing you'll get it. You have a manuel trans also right? and 20's...your doing just fine but, Hopping? Check your pinion angle.

yeah its a t-56 and 20's next season im going to run some slicks... im not sure what my pinion is supposed to be set at and if there is any other way to adjust it without using shims i already have 4 degree shim in there. because it was WAY off. i still believe its a bit off though.

Shims??? Check that thing again.. You should not have to shim it with the right lowering kit.. Your truck has 8's in it easy! just make sure it is setup right! I spun my slicks through first gear tonight and still ran low 8's you know we have basically the same setup!

well i have a bell tech 4/6 flit kit and as far as i knew your not supposed to have to shim flit kits... so im kind of confused as well. and i know we have almost the same setup and it makes me mad haha. but arent you running nitrous? i still spun and the rear tires hopped a bit so i know theres more left in it.

Nice times. Don't worry you will hit 8's. My first runs I was hitting 10s and now I run 9.4 at 79 all day long lol.

You need Caltrac bars on there. That will stop your wheel hop and spring wrap-up.

Putting slicks on before the wheel hop is fixed will make the wheel hop worse in many cases, especially on a lowered truck. You have the power to go a lot quicker than 9.0 judging by the trap speed but you need the rear suspension sorted out first. The pics make the truck look lower in the back than the front....that might be an issue too.

yeah i will get bars before slicks for sure. and when i put the bell tech 4/6 in with the 4.3 it was rated for a v8 drop and the front did sit higher with the v8 it seems like it squatted it another 1/2 inch to an inch id say. its close to level but i do think there is a little bit of a rake. BUT i have 4 worm clamps on my leafs and when those are off the rear sits a tad higher. i have contemplated taking the rear back up a bit but am not quite sure how. as ive already notched the frame and did the flip kit... and yea i was looking at the trap speed and theres people in there with under 80mph in the 8 second range so im konw possible its just a traction, and learning to launch thing for me i suppose. not to mention all the extra weight thats on there as it sits...
