    max compression on nitrous?

ok me and a buddy are building a motor for his drag/street truck.
406 small block (old school, not lsx)
will have about 12:1 compression, what is the biggest nitrous shot i can put on it? will it need a different ring gap?

was wanting to do about 150-200 shot. the intake is plumbed for a fogger system....any help is good, i know nothing about nitrous

Yes, nitrous demands larger ring gaps. Check with your piston/ring manufacturer or use other manufacturers as a guide for your application. They give like .005" per inch of piston diameter, so a 4" piston would have a .020" gap.

Did you finish this build yet? If not it all depends on your parts and tune. 12 to 1 is pretty high, obviously you'll be on race gas, if you've got all forged internal you should be able to go 150 really safely, with the fogger setup it's a little more expensive to set up, but will work a little better, more even distribution, don't forget to pull some timing out, 2 degrees for every 50 horse of juice. Have fun.

no...havent finished the build yet....kinda slow...im at work too much, should be running by the 23-24th, but, we did gap the rings and my buddy is wanting to end up spraying 250 shot when its all said and done, but i figure we will start at 50 and go up in 50 shot intervals.

    yeah...110 octane---$5.12 / gal
