hard to discribe the sound at idle ( but i will try)

ok i just swapped a 5.3 to a 6.0 LQ9 at almost 3/4 throttle i hit 6k rpms but it acts like it cuts out.. thinking i could be hitting the rev limiter but not foresure.. i hope not cause i have alot of peddle left, and if this is the case i will have to ask allen for another retune ... unless i get lucky and melissa hasnt sent the other out today ..

You can hit 6k RPM at 1/2 throttle. Throttle position has nothing to do with RPM limits, it's all in the tune. The stock tune has the RPM limited due to the valve train not being reliable enough to handle the extra load. You need to upgrade to hardened pushrods at a minimum if you want to raise your rev-limiter. The question isn't if your pushrods will bend but rather when will your pushrods bend and what all damage will it create when it happens. Better valve springs such as the Comp Cams 928s would be suggested, too.

hey red my tune is from allen, i have 918 springs with harden push rods already, what i have done here was mount patriot stage 2 heads on a lq9 lower end.. allen did the tune for me... so you think i should still go with com 928's ? i also have a 224 cam
