Thread: Guys Help...QUICK!

I got my harness in from allen for Ls1 fans for my 02 Denali. I hooked it all up. and nothing happened. The blue wire that goes to the computer I took that out and touched it to the ground and both fans came on, so i know its not the harness. I still have my stock pcm, but I figuered it would just work. I am now being told it won't. I have orderd a Nelson tune and I am just waiting for it to get here. Now my other question is the green wire!! which one do I use?? I have a light green, dark green, and a light green with a white stripe.

IIRC, the dark green wire. I'll try to check later. I accidentally tapped the wrong wire my first time, and it basically just kept the fan running all the time.

The PCM pin does have to be turned on. As you may have figured out, though, all the PCM does is ground the connection at the proper temp.

Gotta have the pins activated in the PCM or buy a controller for the electric fans to use the Nelson harness.

Get a tune! Find a shop with HPTuners software and pay to have them turn the fans on. Get a tune while you're at it. If you can't find a local tuner contact the folks at NelsonPerformance.com and they can mail you a tune for a nominal fee.

Yeah man, the PCM has to be tuned for the fans to come on. Allen will have to enable the fan for pin 42...you can call him and he will send a PCM in replacement for yours

Guys, I did my fans yesterday. Still have questions:
On the truck, I only use one pin, so does that mean that BOTH fans will come on? I can't have a high/low?
Also, my tuner and I can't find why, but the fans are coming on with the truck, instead of waiting on temperature. Basically, the pin is grounded by default.
