HDD recovery

Hey guys, I won't tell you how i broke my harddrive in my laptop, lol, but do any of you have a contact, info, experience, or take hdd's apart to repair them and recover data?
The drive is broke, no power, the bios won't detect it, so I need help.

not an easy thing to do to get it repaired if its physically broken. there are some ways you can try to recover the data. did you take the hd out of the laptop and try booting it on a different machine?

Ya, it&#39;s definitely physically broken, either the power to it, the head, or something. I was hoping to put the parts in a working case.

You could but a external case and plug it into that and see if that makes it work. ? If not, just return the case.

DON&#39;T LET IT TRY TO BOOT UP. IF YOU HEAR A SCRATCHING NOISE YOU ARE DOING MORE DAMAGE. TAKE IT SOMEWHERE AND SEE IF THEY CAN RETRIEVE THE DATA. I HAD ONE CRAP OUT ON ME AND I GOT 80% OF THE INFO OFF OF IT.

It&#39;s dead, it won&#39;t even power up, and the laptop was in suspend mode when it was damaged.
I called around, it&#39;s only going to cost about 1,000 dollars to retrieve my data, lol.

I wonder if you could find the exact same HD somewhere, what it would take to move your platters into the new unit?

That&#39;s what I need done, it requires a clean room/lab and careful tools.
