I THINK I MAY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY O2 READINGS. I HAVE AN AEROMOTIVE GUAGE THAT READS BANK ONE AT 45-800 AND BANK TWO STAYS AT 445-450. DOES THIS MEAN I HAVE A BAD O2 SENSOR? I THINK ALLEN MAY HAVE THE BACK SENSORS DISABLED. ALLEN OR RED I NEED YOUR INPUT PLEASE.

I WAS READING THAT THE FRONT SHOULD FLUCTUATE B/W 100- 900 AND THE BACK TWO SHOULD READ WHAT MY BANK 2 IS READING. THE BANK TWO MUST BE THE BACK SENSORS? I AM CONFUSED.

Bank 1 is on cylinder 1 side, driver side. Bank 2 is on cylinder 2 side, passenger side. Sounds like you have a lazy/slow sensor.

"Hello Folks,
I bought a Interceptor gauge for a 2002 GMC 1/2 ton 5.3 Sierra 4/4 from Nelson Performance this May 2006.
I have a question on the O2 sensor B1-02 and O2 B2-02 PID's . The B2-02 always reads 425-450. I just took it to a GM dealership and their Teck2 scanner reads OK, with changing millivolts like the B1-02 does.
I have used the top position and bottom on the gauge with no difference in the result.
The short and long trims are good. No codes are being set. The truck runs good. Tried 2 different PCM's with no chance in the readings. "[/b]
The above is a copy of a email I sent last year about the same problem you may be having. They sent back this

"I've heard of this before on certain GM trucks. I'd have to guess that GM used a non-standard parameter i.d. for this sensor reading on some of their trucks. What you are seeing is a dummy value, similar to what a manual transmission car replies when asked for trans temp. I don't know why GM has done this, I've seen it in a few other rare instances such as knock retard on '96-'98 F-bodies (Firebird/Camaro)

If we get one of these vehicles on our shop, we'll check it out and make the addition to the software. You can then send yours back to be reflashed if that particular parameter is important to you.

I have put the gauge on a 99 Sierra with the same results. So it looks like GM does something differant on the B2 that goofs up the aftermarket gauges.

Hopes this helps
