A group of us made it to the strip this weekend, and I ran our '99 rcss 2wd that's in my sig. I ran the truck in street trim minus the headlight (jack, spare tire, etc was all left in) with the only mods being a K&N CAI and the muffler back was replaced with a glasspack and duals out the back. I ran a best of 15.67 @ 85.22, which is about what I expected.

What I didn't expect was the massive traction problem. Granted, I was running standard truck street tires, but it would break loose and wheel hop like crazy. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this truck to hook? Or are slicks all I need?

Another question is how much time my future mods will knock off my time. The truck is getting an '04 LS6 cam/springs and Pacesetter LT's. Are the 13's feesable? My brother's Duramax ran a 13.89. . . so that's my current goal.

You need a good posi, a stall convertor, sticky tires and if you still wheel hop get a set of Caltracs.

Not too shabby for basically stock. I put you up on the Fastest Truck List though. Let me know if anything needs to be adjusted

If you had problems hooking you should be low 15 s. The mods you are going to install + gears and 2600 stall should get you a mid 13
