Thread: Tie Rod flip kit Inserts F/S

1. #1
I have multiple tie rod flip kit inserts which allow you to relocate your tie rod through the bottom up on the spindle. These are used when you lower your vehicle in the front to prevent dangerous unwanted Bumpsteer. If you have bumpsteer after lowering it is because of your tie rods angle.

The inserts are super easy to install, shouldnt take no longer than 1hr
All thats needed is an 11/16th drill bit and a 3/4-16 tap!

Price is $40.00 set/ shipped

The inserts that you see on some suspension sites range from 50.00- 70.00+ shipping and you cant use them because they use a special Tap (3/4-20) which forces you to buy the expensive kit to recieve the tap, the ones i have on the other hand allow you to purchase the bit and tap from NAPA Etc.

These Inserts are Grade A, they are CNC Machined to allow a perfect fit, everytime.
Specially made to fit 1999-2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1/2 ton 2wd models, Or any vehicle with those particular spindles!

I dont do alot of posting around here but i have a 100% positive feedback at LS1tech.com and Performancetrucks.net

Thanks for looking!

For those that do not know what Bumpsteer is, Bumpsteer is sometimes caused when you lower your vehicle and when doing so causes your Tie rods to be subject to an unwanted angle. For those that are not familiar with the term bumpsteer it is exactly as it reads. When your vehicle hits a bump it in the road your steering wheel vibirates or moves, not only is this harsh on your front suspension componets but it is also dangerous! This can be solved by relocating your tie rods or "flipping" them where they bolt to the spindle.
The tie rods do have a cone shape seated design so its not possible to just unbolt and flip them, Luckily there are some inserts available that can be installed that will allow you to flip the rods. The hole in the spindle where the tie rod connects will have to be drilled to a larger hole because remember that the ball joint on the tie rod is tapered which means that the hole is larger on top than it is at the bottom. Once the hole is enlarged you now tap the hole with the required Tap for the inserts to be installed. Now you can screw the tapered inserts in which will now make the hole larger on the bottom which allows for the tie rod to be flipped, which solves your bumpsteer problem. The only thing that you will have to do is adjust your toe in and out because of the tie rods new location.

You don't need those for the 88-98 trucks.
