Ok im getting a little frustrated with how my truck is performing at the race track! The best i have been able to get out of it was a 14.7 @ 94.98MPH. I have an 05' VHO with a Trailblazer converter, Comp Cam, Nelson Tune, CAI, T-Stat, and true dual exhaust. My truck is gutless out of the hole! Like no tires spinning 2.6 60'! once it gets above 2500 it screams all the way to 6300 and hits second and bogs for about a second and then screams all the way to 95mph and im done racing. And im still in second gear at the finish line! I tried stalling my truck thinking that the computer was getting KR, so i tried just punching it! and still getting same damn results a little better just punching it though!

I know the Factory 20's and 31.8" tall tires have a bunch to do with my problem so im asking yall, The experts at all this stuff what it is going to take to get my truck in the 12's N/A?

Would some 4.10 gears, Pace setter LT's, Shift kit and servo, and some 27" tall drag slicks be enough?

If not what do yall think it will be good for? A mid 13? high 13?

Im probably going to end up blowing the G80 up with some big slicks so what size slicks would everyone recommend that would keep me from gutting the diff?

What will it take to get me in the 12's N/A? heads? bigger cubes?

Im out of ideas and need solid answers, any help would be appreciated.

I would think you should be doing better than that. This heat isn't helping, but that 60' is bad. best I have mustered is 2.2.
Those 20's aren't helping. LT's should be a huge improvement, but I don't think there is any way our big-ass trucks could hit 12's N/A (without dropping absurd amounts of jack).

EDIT: Unless this isn't your DD, then you might need to start with a new cam & 4,000 stall!!!!

Nitrous, supercharger or turbo if you want that heavy beast to see the 12s. 4.10s are going to help tremendously. When you get slicks, get the smallest diameter aluminum wheel that will still fit over your brakes so that your rotating mass will be low. Slicks weigh next to nothing, wheels kill you.

The 4.10's woke mine up and with the new 3200 stall it winds up to 6000 in no time. spray will gain you anywhere from 1 to 1.5 seconds in the 1/4.

I'm at the 14.3 mark and NEED some LT headers. With the 300 Fuddle Stall, stock rims and General Grabbers my 60' is 2.1's .

N/A I can't see 12's. As a daily driver there are sacrifices but a 4.10 will make a difference.

Even with my 4.10's I went to austin today and reset all my gauges and averaged 18.7 MPG. That seems to be pretty awesome. I also cruised about 68 or so the whole way with a real soft foot. But the gas mileage with 4.10's is only as bad as you make it be.

Im not even spinning off the line i just bog till 2500 or so and then it screams! I think im gonna get some gears next. As for tires I know a 16" rim will fit over the rear drums but the smalest rims i can fit in the front are 17"s. So i was going to get an extra spare tire and rim to use with my existing spare for the front runners and get some maybe 16x10's or 16x12's for the rear and some good slicks. I dont care what my truck looks like running down the track with spare rims and fat tires as long as it looks fast doing it. I just dont want to blow up the differential with to big of a slick. I should be at the top of 3rd gear at the end of the track not the top of 2nd.

I will find a way to go 12's N/a in my truck. Im sure there is someone out there with a 12 second N/a extened cab ls truck, if not i want to be the first. I think some gears, tires ,and some heads and ill be there.

I was really impressed with the L92 heads thats are on the new escalades. They flow like 330cfm stock and they are around 300 assembled from GMPP. The matching intakes comes with the 90mm T/b fuel injectors and fuel rail for 475! If im not mistaken these heads will bolt right up using an offset factory rocker arm for the intake and regular ls exh. rockers. I think even the exhaust manifolds will work. Anyone heard or seen these heads? There is a but load of info on them on ls1tech.com. They look to be a damn good alternative to aftermarket heads. If nothing else i can always go with bigger cubes.

Calculate HP from ET
Vehicle weight in pounds (including driver)
5,100 lbs
ET in seconds
13.0 sec

You are making : 459 HP at the rear wheels and 541 HP at the flywheel*.

Good luck man. I am rooting for ya, but that is very close to impossible.
*Note: Assuming a 18% drive train loss.

My truck weighs 5,100 lbs? My truck is freakin fat! I wonder what my back seat weighs and a fiberglass cowl hood vs, my stock hood. I wonder what my tailgate weighs? Maybe i can loose a few lbs. eventhough it might not be extreamely significant it will still help if can shed at least 100lbs. how did you calculate the hp from et?
