i was wondering for you guys that know a lot of electrical stuff, or for you guys that have installed solenoids with a remote, what receiver box brand did you use..i think mine is some off brand one from ebay, i originally just installed remote entry, but then removed those things and shved my doors. now it seems like my reciver box is going out or something.. also from the begining, i had to wire it up to the auxillary button on my remote. i had to hold that button down for about 3 seconds then the door would pop open. but i dont think that is right... my parents have a 01 mustang gt, and i was thinking about its remote and that it has a solenoid for the trunk and as soon as i press that button for the trunk it is open.. so what i am thinking, is that i need a new remote setup for my truck..if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated...and if any of this is confusing, im sorry, i was thinking about 20 different reasons why my door would do this...haha..thanks

Mine are wired in using relays and my car alarm's aux function buttons. I have a CompuSTAR alarm system.

I think I paid like $300 installed. What I did was use their dealer locator service on their website. These things sell for like $500 installed in major electronic companies. This guy had a tire store and sold electronics on the side. He got the alarm for like $130 and the rest was installation and a glass breakage detection unit. Go to their website and call all the local installers listed there. Surely you can get as good of a deal as I did.
