Does the Z06 corvette manifold sawp onto the 5.3? I thought i heard somewhere it did and was looking into it considering it only runs about $500 and the BBK runs around $700, just an idea but any help would be appriciated.

It will swap but it sits lower, i believe you will need all the accessories to go with it including the injectors and rails.

Yes, it bolts on but I keep hearing that things are in the way that will make it work well without switching a lot of stuff out. you really don't gain enough to justify the expense of the change over IMO. I'd spend the money somewhere else. Have the heads ported or something. We were down at XtremeMotorsports and they said they do a stage 1 port job for $500. That's a damn good price. $200 more for gaskets and you're done and have picked up a lot more power.

if your going to swap manifolds go with the "big ugly" 6.0, it made more poer/tq than the stock LS1 manifold, the stock LS6 manifold, and barely got beat by the F.A.S.T manifold, chevy high did a test a few issues back and said if you got the hood clearance go with it for the $, im not sure how it would do on a 5.3 but it should give you more torque than the LS6. id do other mods first though, but tell us if it works.

You have to be careful about the comparisons. One manifold on size engine may make power while losing power on another size. Differences in camshaft profiles will affect the intake, also. The LS2 intake does wonders on the LS2 6.0L but is a dog on the 5.7L LS1/LS6. Just be sure you compare apples to apples.

What about an LS6 intake on my 5.3L since it also has an LS6 cam? I could probably add the heads and make for a nice combo.

It will bolt on. But, you do have to change all front accessory's and brackets. Don't forget you will need a LS1 fuel rail and the longer LS1 inj. and inj. connector pig tails.
I've also hard that the truck intake manifold was the one to have. It makes seance longer intake runners means more power, right? The truck intakes may work better, but there not pretty to look at.
Go w/ a cam or some NOS. Or you could sell that Hypertech and get a good tune from Allen @ NELSONS PERFORMANCE.![]()
