Thread: 05 rotors and calipers interchageable w/04GMC

    Anybody know if front brakes from an 05 will retrofit to an 04 gmc.both are 1/2 ton 2wd ext cabs,I want the bigger brakes upfront.

    I don't mess with the NBS trucks. I'd sure go to the dealership for compatibility or just get some aftermarket brake setup from Bear or SSBC or wilwood, whomever makes them for the NBS trucks.

    Ok if your going to take the easy way out.......I have access to a fresheshly totalled 05 that could use some swapping before it goes to the parts hole!

    It has to have some parts reinstalled so it looks untouched....wink...wink..nudge...nudge....ya know what I mean!

    Pull the wheels off and see if they're the same. You could probably take they whole a-arm assembly if needed for the swap. I'd be surprised if they didn't just swap out though. GM is famous for parts compatibility. I would take the spindle, rotor and caliper. One complete assembly would be an easy swap.

    I'd take the whole spindle assembly..... everything else will just bolt up.
