hello all, have been a regular on ls1tech and post under the same name. I used to own a TA that i built,(and blew up) at the track several times..i finally got rid of it due to having to get finished with school. I have a s10 blazer im thinking about putting a ls1 in, as well as a 88 chevy that im wanting to go with a newer motor..i pulled the tbi years ago and put a carbed engine in it, runs good..but as we all know..gas is rediculous so i need to do something.. thats pretty much the long and short of it, thanks for having me aboard..

    Welcome, Noobie.

Drop you a 5.3L in that thing. They're cheap, under 1k for a good low mileage unit. Guys are making over 300hp at the rear tires with just bolt ons.

nah...if i do it i will go with the 5.6 liter , ive got a set of rods from my 1st spun rod bearing motor on my trans am that i can use..ill prolly just get a block and have it gone over then get a set of stock pistons and hang them on those rods, port of set of stock heads and call it a day. I dont know about the swap though..there is alot of work to do..not that i cant do it, its just i dont know if i want to..after about the third time of pulling the engine in my car due to various things, changing stall converters about 5 times, (due to me trying to go faster ) im about tired of doing the super involved projects..the more i think about it, the more i want to put that ls1 in a 88 gbody ss..i have two sitting that need some tlc..i really want to get my truck done first though..anyone know of someone selling a vortech engine..98 or earlier..let me know..i dont want to to a whole lot of modifications so i would like to keep the engine from that era..i need harness and everyything..my tbi is long gone so i need the harness and computer..or if anyone knows of someone selling an old megasquirt computer or kit, the old ones that do not have the ignition control, i may be interested in it..i have the old tb off my 88 that i would be willing to work with if i had the megasquirt to better tune it..
    thanks matt
