Just wondering if anyone has any info on this... the SSR seemed really cool, and there seemed to be a lot of excited people before they came out, but I see maybe one on the road a month. Their sales seem to have gone over like a turd in a punchbowl. What happened? Nobody likes them?

My opinion is there ugly, over priced, very unpractical. At least when you buy a Corvette it handels like its on rails and when you snap the throttle it hauls ass. When you buy a truck you can haul more than a bag of groceries.

Wow... I never thought they were ugly; they're styled after the 49-52 pickup. Of course we had a restored '51 pickup when I was little, so I may be biased

I like the SSR but it's more of an old man's truck since it's a two seater. Us family people can't own something that only seats two.

This was like the one we had when I was little, but it had a navy blue body with silver fenders

and this is the SSR, which I think looks a heck of a lot like the 51 we had, but you can see why I had fond memories of the 51

I say ... ditch the convertible idea and use the bed as a truck bed w/tonneau and then maybe it'll sell.

Did they ever put the Vette engine in it? The 7.0 ??

Nope, it's got the 6.0. GM, for the past 50 years, has had sort of an unwritten rule that they are not supposed to make a car that is as fast as the Vette. So, the 7.0 will prolly not make it into anything else.
