Lots of pictures coming first time swap LQ9/5 speed going in a 92 k1500

New to the site and getting my first swap going. A month ago I bought a 92 k1500 stepside with 350/nv3500 and am swapping in a LQ9/nv4500. I already bought the LQ9, and custom comp cam that is a 215/223 .604/.610 108lsa. On the way I have coated longtubes, air intake, underdrive pulley, Nelson tune, 8.1 marine injectors, walbro fuel pump, and various other swap items. Pics below is after I cleaned it up a little, when I bought it(3 different rims lol), and the 6.0 motor

It only took one clutch dump to blow out the stock g80 limited slip. The next day I sourced a junkyard 6 lug 14 bolt with 3.73's and g80....got it swapped in today. Sure was a fun job by myself! Lol

Thanks man....I've been reading through yours the past few days. Coming from the dodge world where nothing is interchangeable, I'm amazed how easy this swap appears to be. It's awesome how most of GM's parts over the years work together. I can't even istall a cam in my 4th gen Ram because the tuning is so raw and sucks....everybody that has installed one has seen no gain or negative gains.

Ordered some parts today: sach 1050 flywheel, adapters for water temp and oil temp senders, the setbacks for the motor mounts, a set of PAC 1518 beehive springs, and the walbro 255 fuelpump. A few more parts to buy along with sending my harness off and mailing my computer to Nelson and I'll be ready to get the swap started!

Sounds pretty similar to my swap! I'm in the process of pulling the old motor right now... Did you keep the 11" drums on your 14 bolt? Great brakes! You need to swap in the appropriate combination valve though...

Welcome to the site tons of info on here And lots of very helpful members. Whats that cam speced for?Seems a lot different from what I seen in the ls world. If its something that just came with the motor Id consider having someone(LS noligable) look at the profile before installing it .
