    tune out DTC's?

so ive got a U1301 code showing up. im pretty sure this is not an emissions related code and its not too important as its not illuminating the CEL. but for one, its bugging me to see it, and two, im not sure if the BAR ref will care or not that its there so id like to get rid of it.

ive done research on it and its caused either by serial data short to battery positive or its not communicating with other modules (BCM,TCM, etc) i drove around with my meter hooked up to pin 2 and 4 on the DLC and monitered voltage. the "normal" seems to be around 0.38v and the highest spike i saw was 1.3v Also i only have the PCM in the car. so im thinking its not a short to battery, but its just not recieving signal from the other modules.

does my diagnostics sound right to you? i know nothing about the data part of the system so i was hoping you tuning guys could shed some light.

if thats all the problem is, can that be tuned out without hurting anything? also it says if this code is set, it blocks all other U-codes from being set. im wondering if there are any others that may pop up for no reason after that should be tuned out at the same time?

the PCM set the code. its the only module i have. dont need the bcm or a tcm. i got vats removed so the others are unessesary for my application. and yes its for my truck. since i dont have the other modules that the PCM is used to talking to from the escalade, is this the reason for the code? i know a lot of guys here run just the pcm but i havnt seen anybody mention this code before... is it cuz they get them tuned out? im just wondering if thats possible to do or not.

I dont think its going to hurt anything having that code, even in stock format data codes go undetected. Some funny codes are probably normal when your running a newer pcm by itself. Maybe someone who knows more about ls swaps can help...

yeah im really not worried about the code itself hurting anything. pretty sure its due to me only having the pcm. just worried about it showing up to the smog refs here in cali. i was just wondering if it was possible to tune out specific DTC's so they dont pop up. can that be done? say like turn off all the DTC's for EVAP stuff so they dont show up, BUT the monitor tests still run like normal and show complete once they run??? kind of the opposite of having the tests always report complete but the codes still showing up...
