has any one had any problems with the headers been too close to the firewall.
I have schoenfeld headers , 1'' set back motor plates . the driver side its ok lots of room . but the passenger side was hitting the heat shield so i remove it an its got about 1/4'' of space . its this what all of you have seen?

scoenfeld heADERS ARE THE MOST USED FOR OBS LSx SWAPS
dimple or c-notch the firewall. Headers are for powa, firewalls are not.

they fit. its just that the pasanger side looks too close to the firewall about 1/4 '' its this good enough.
That is a little snug. Ypu may want to put some heat barrier padding under the carpet there.

If there is an airgap and the headers are not ratty-tat-tattin' on the firewall, you should be golden. I don't think I'd worry about it if I were you.

I had the same problem on my 1992 pickup.I removed the heat shield and everything is fine.
