    Unhappy Damm...

    is all i got to say....

    heard some chattering one afternoon...so next am took valve covers off to find this





    no biggy just order a new titaniunm retainer and seal....?

    wrong,head sleeve for the seal ended up being broken as i removed spring...




    ok so order a new oem head...no big deal

    wrong again
    and this is cyl #3 dont know wtf happened here






    i noticed that while on the ground messing with the head,so im crossing my fingers hoping the piston is ok then.....


    my luck





    i dont know how that cylinder got messed up like that like if something was in there

    Your ring gap was too tight and locked in the cylinder on a downwards cycle and ripped the ring land off. Time for forged pistons and and properly gapped rings.

    happened yesterday....it was bound to happen this was just a pull out motor ly6 off a 09 2500hd.............whats a good forged rotating assembly ?i was thinking on just replacing piston and head but nah im just going to pull it ..i dont know im thinking 427
