    A couple 4l80e swap questions.

I'm wondering if anyone knows the diff the between a 2wd 4l80e out of a van vs one out of a 2wd truck? The salvage yards list them as incompatible and I'm not sure why? I know the dipstick is diff but what else? I'm thinking one should work in my 03 1500 2wd?
Also does the shift bracket on a 4l80e work for the 4l60e cable, or do you swap the bracket over from the 4l60e? Thanks!

You need the 80e bracket and I didn't think there's a difference. In the truck and van trans.

It's just the senseless yards that don't know its all the same. They will often tell you an engine out of a car can't go in a truck or suv just because they don't have experience with them.

Whats different about the output shafts? So there is a possibility that it might not have a slip yoke? The trans I want to buy is out of a 03 Savana Van.

Yeah, some (or maybe all) 1ton 2wds have the fixed yoke output. May be the same thing with the vans. Just check it before you buy.

Can run a slip yoke on the fixed output, it will just be shorter. That what all my 80es had. Still hold fine

What slip yoke do you use if you need a shorter one? Or do you cut the slip yoke shorter?
