I know with reg hyd lifters to stay away from used cams, but with the gen 3 motors is there any worry? Also is a ls1 vette cam the same as ls1 camaro, or 5.3 truck cam? Newbie please help :secret: :eek2: :eyes:

Even with flat tappet cams it's all about when they were broken in, if you get a used one with used lifters...just make sure they came off the specific lobe.

Hyd rollers there isn't a thing to worry about.

C5 vs Camaro/TA vs Truck cams are all differet

I had a Lingenfelter C5 cam in my F-body LS1. Dimensionally, all the cams are the same for the LSx motors other than lobe size, lift, duration and all that.

I thought they would all interchange. I got a killer deal on a 99 vette cam 199/207 472/479 117 lsa. Now I am hearing its not worth the time for the swap cause i really would prefer a lower power band. Oh well maybe another deal of a lifetime will roll around Anyway thanks for the help everyone
