tranny dip stick and tube ?????????

i just swaped a 4l85e into my truck, it had a six speed in it so i dont have any of the 4l60e parts laying around. my question is will a dip syick and tube from a th350/400 work and read the correct fluid amount. the th350/400 dip stick is 15$ the 4l80 tube and stick is 75$ from the dealer.

would probably work...fluid level won't be correct. You could measure the quarts, and remark the dipstick. But for $75, I'd buy one and not risk the trans.
blown transmissions are about as useful as 97% of the guys on this forum

Lokar does make one but its a 100$! A dipstick tube doesn't make anymore power, I would rather put the money towards a transbrake.

so, buy a shorty dipstick. It slips in from the bottom and is only about 2 inches tall. You fill the transmission from the bottom. I think www.hotrodlane.cc sells them along with many other companies. They use the same style in the new Camaros.
