    tranny problems........help

    ok well i just put a transmission in a buddies truck.At first when i put it in it acted fine no problems what so ever then it started acting funny. No overdrive or third, revs out whenever it feels like it, converter wont lockup in first it will lockup in second as long as u column shift it. I have no idea what could be wrong i changed all the shift noids and the wiring harness and it didnt fix it

    its not supposed to lock the convertor in first. Have you checked the fluid level now that its cycled?

    NO overdrive or 3rd sounds like 3-4 clutches .....Any trouble codes?

    well i dont really mean locked but if u put in first and get it up to about 30mph and let of. it goes back down to idle then when u give it gas it goes back up to the rpm it was at

    That just happened to me. It was my converter.

    yea we put a stock convert in it because the tci has been through 2 transmossions didnt wanna risk gettin junk inside this transmission....guess we will either get the tci cleaned or find a stock one for cheap
