    A 01 1500 HD

What has to happen? Is it a direct bolt up or do I need to change the front bumper too?

Im getting a 01 GMC 1500HD CC 4x4 6.0L and i want to put the Denali front end on it if its not to much trouble.

Also Allen do you have some sort of towing tune where I will get more ponys and torque and still be able to tow with no problem?

I am considering a LS6 intake on it and maybe a ZO6 cam

Anybody know if the LS6 heads are that much better over the 6.0L stock?

    Thanks for the help

From everything that i have seen the only advantage of the ls6 intake on our trucks is it gives you more room. The ls6 intake is good if you are going to be spinning you engine out past 6500 rpm. I dont thing you will be. As far as heads go, I would say for the price that you are going to pay for heads dont. Go forced induction. You mentioned about pulling, if you are planning on pulling much then you need you hp and tq down low. Ls6 heads and intake move your hp and tq up high. However forced induction works great for towing. There are a couple of quys on here running the new sts turbo kit on there 1500hd. They use them for towing.. Look for Jerry2500 and Bud8Fan if you have questions about it. As far as tuning goes, get aholod of Allen at Nelson Performance he will hook you up with what you need. Either way good luck and dont hesitate to post any questions.

The LS6 heads are good for towing if you're not going turbo because you get more compression. The moving the power curve up to a higher rpm is due to the cam, not the heads. The right cam with the LS6 heads will make one hell of a stump puller. Be prepared to pay a righteous price for a set of LS6 heads though. I haven't seen a complete set of used LS6 heads sell for less that $800 and I troll many vette websites watching for them.

Well, on a GMC yes, they are a direct swap, dimensionaly the same, my buddy has them on his 02 HD, and they are sweet, but i am hesitant to spend 300 on a set of headlights, and have heard stories about aftermarket sets being junk.

My buddy purchased some aftermarket projector lights and after six months or so the lenses turned a hazey yellow color. Looked real nasty considering he paid almost $400 when the first came out. You can't beat stock parts!!

No crap. The lights that came with my SAP brand Escalade kit are cheap junk. They won't adjust with the adjusters, you have to remove the light and adjust it and put them back in. The adjusters keep popping out of their holders and makes the lights bounce around.
