I have mine on with the ignition right now and no problems at all except that the fans are always running so they are getting more wear on them than is needed.

One issue with having it on at key-on is start-up

You have both the fan's initial amp spike (which is a lot) and the starter
jolting the system all at once.

Flex-a-lite makes a very neat and simple fan controller that i use on my
Mustang. All-in-one unit. built in relays, little probes to stick in radiator.
Comes on at whatever temp you set it at. Even runs for 10 secs after key
off to keep cooling engine after shut down.
    2002 Tahoe 4.8 - soon to be turbo'd - SOLD
    1989 Mustang - LX Vert - 351W-TT - 2inches of dust covering it
    2012 Raptor - 497rwhp at 10psi
If you aint breaking - you aint going fast enough

r.barn... Do you happen to have a part number for that fan control setup? I only ask because I have not been able to locate one as of yet.

What i did w/ these fans, I found out a 2000 LS1 camaro w/ e-fans uses the same PCM P/N as my truck, I traced the wiring diagram and found all i needed to do is run the ground wire from my fan relay to the #42 PCM wire connector then go into the DST and adjust all the fan operations, Temp on, Temp off & A/C fan operation.....(Works Great)
