do a straight axle conversion, it's stronger anyway.

In theory it'd be a lot easier on the 6.0 1/2 tons (SS, VHO) with the T-Bar suspension.

i thought so. im not realy looking to jack it up just to have the option we get allot of snow here so its a very nice feature. is there any other ways it can be done?
sell it and buy a 4x4 or buy a complete 4x4 running gear and frame from a boneyard

Yeah there really is no easy way to do it, I think the best would just be a solid axle swap. Start from scratch

solid axle it! it will be cheaper in the long run after buying everything to convert to ifs 4x4, and is way stronger and much more reliable. you can find bolt in kits for the solid front conv. for pretty cheap. i can't remember the company that i was going to get mine from but it was only like $350 for everything except the springs and axle.
'00 Silverado, '98 Trans Am, and a couple other toys.
The problem isn't with finding the parts as it is fabbing up new mounts. Almost every single suspension mount for the 2wd and 4wd frames are different
If you're good at fabbing and wanted to tackle it, it could be done, but you better have access to a CNC machine to create a lot of the mounts.
Wanna do the 2WD to 4WD then buy a GMT900 because a lot more of the stuff is the same on them.
