It is hard for me to believe but it has been over a year since I put the Whipple charged 5.3 in my '94 work truck. 18,000 miles and 3 4l60 trannys later I must say that this is the best combo I have ever had in this truck. The 5.3 is so much smoother than the previous motor (an LT1).

Last week I finished a 4l80e conversion on it so I am pretty sure my trans problems are now over !

The only problems I have had with it is a leaky A/C fitting (my fault) the trans woes, and I had a fuel pump go out (it was a few years old-was in there with the LT1)

Long live the LS1 style motors !!!!!
2002 SWB 2WD crate 6 liter/Whipple, 4L80E, comp cam, ASM headers, NOS, etc, etc.... best of 7.29 at 97 mph in the 1/8th

1994 Work Truck 2WD Supercharged 5.3/4L80E combo. Has had a LT1 for the last 3 years. Ran 9.61 in the 1/8th with the LT1 Has went 8.81 with a 2.35 60ft in current trim, needs traction !!

damn, the 94 would never leave the driveway if I could drive the 2002 that runs the 1/8 in the 7 second range!!!

I enjoy driving the '02 for sure, but it is really a blast to spank people in a long bed work truck with toolboxes on the back. Kills since the swap include a few Hemis, a Nissan 350z (shoulda seen that guys face&#33 a Lightning and couple juice boxed Duramaxes.

I intend to build a new motor for the '02 and then swap its 6 liter into the 94
