    converter swap in a 4x4 truck/suv

Basicly what is involved? I crawled under the yukon the otherday to check everything out for when i throw on the longtubes and stall and was thinking about removing/rolling backwards the trans/transfercase. However the xmeber or whatever you call it that the torsion bars conect to is in the way from alowing me from just pulling everything towards the rear. Do i need to just drop everything straight down? Ill be using ramps/jackstands on gravel with plywood mostlikely. Thanks

Don't take the bars loose or pull their crossmember. Unbolt and unplug the transfer case...it will slide back enough to get it off the output shaft of the transmission. Then it will do down in the front and come out. You will wanna remove the y-pipe anyway to get the trans out.
