Just got the new cam I ordered and I've heard a couple different opinions about replacing the valve springs. I'm working on a 5.3 in a 2000 GMC, and installing an ls6 cam. Should I replace my stock valve springs?

    Thanks in advance.

change to comp cams 918s. You'll need them if you have many miles on your stock ones. The springs wear down and lose tension plus the LS6 has quite a bit more lift so you may collapse the springs to zero clearance and bend pushrods.

if the 918's are a little expensive then you can put in the new z06 springs. the 918's will last longer.

918s pop up used cheap too, keep an eye for them.

You Guys Rock!!!! I just added it to my auction stealer list. I can't wait to get this stuff and go down to see Allen again. BTW - Nice Ride Dan. I'm going to have to get some picks of mine up soon.
