    totaled 1fastsilverado

    i was driving, stopped at a stoplight saturday night. sat there for about 20 seconds when a drunk guiy in explorer nails me in ass at 50mph. then he left. he got locked up. no insurance etc. im screwed. freames bent, cabs bent in. $6000 + to fix it and its only booked at 3500. should i buy i tback and take to frame shop? i have pics ill put up tommorow morning.

    dang it man!!! that sucks, sorry to hear this!

    thats rough anyways, but especially when its someone like that that does it to you...

    talk to the insurance company and see what you can take off before they claim it and then move on. After a hit like that you'll never be happy with it after repaired. At least you didn't have LSx/posi/FLT trans/converter and all that.

    sorry to hear. They should be able to cut you a check for the value. Post pic although if the frame and cab are bent I doubt it will be worth it to fix. One thing that sux about insurance on older trucks like our is they doink you on the value. IMO full coverage is almost not worth it. Think about it, if some one backs into your door thats it, unless you fix yourself. Most shops charge $2k if the word paint is used.

    $3500 what a joke, are the rims ok? and other parts? Maybe get it back for the parts and sell them or put them on a diff truck. It will all work out man. let us know if we can do anything to help.

    Evidently your not suppose to brace for a crash from what I heard. That's why drunk drivers survive more crashes then the people they run into.

    The insurance will pay you the value of the truck less your collision deductible.
