    service brake system

i jsut got my truck lifted 6 inch cst with 18inch rims and 305/70/18 tires

just about everytime i go to start up the truck i get the service brake system on the dic and my abs and brake light comes on.it clears if i shut it off and restart the truck.it only does it on start up and no other time.is this something with the pcm or something that could have happened when they lifted it.as it just started doing it a few days after it was lifted..and yes the pcm is tuned for the new tires from nelson

Its an ABS issue. The large tires screw with it. The ABS doesn't like large OD tires. The ABS also doesn't like small diam tires, like 27". I don't know how they fix it but I've heard lots of lifted guys complain about the ABS light being on when they went to oversize tires.

    Mine did the same thing.
Make sure Alan has your correct gear size and tire size. Actually go and measure the tire. large tires are usually smaller than the advertised size.
This will take care of the problem.

He has to have the current gears and tire diameter. If he puts the gear size in that you want in the future it will give you the ABS code. Take a tire off the ground and run a tape measure around it or put a mark on the OD and on the ground, drive one full revolution and measure the distance you travel. After that divide the distance by PI or 3.1416 and I think that gives you the diameter of the tire.

or you can do it the easy way. Take your tape measure out to your wheel, place one end on ground and measure to the top of wheel. This is how I did mine. My speedometer was dead on with my gps.
