    LS1 swap into 1979 Chevy C-10

Has anyone swapped an LS1 into a 79 Chevy C-10? Truck currently has 305 cu in with 350 turbo.

Is it a bolt-in or does it require special mounts?

I would like to swap engine and trains at the same time. Any recommendations about what vehicle is best to use for a donar? Truck or car make any difference?

What are same of the problems I will encounter?

    Any comments appreciated.

adapter mounts are readily available, I would recommend a 4.8 or 5.3. A local guy here did an '81 with a 5.3 and it is nice. Would you like hi number, he is a great source.

Ls1 only came in cars. Do a search on ebay for the adaptors. I used the
Transdapt plates on my setup. Let me know if you have any other ? and I will try and answer them the best I can.

Thanks for the link. Good post. Very helpful.

I noticed you referenced the 4L60e transmission. Does this transmission come as a standard item in cars? What about 4L80e?

60e is common to most trucks unless its an HD, 3/4 or 1 ton.
